Since day one, Sweetchilango has been about community—connecting people through the flavors, vibrancy, and warmth of Mexican food. Today, we are excited to share the next chapter in our story: Sweetchilango is evolving into Bien Trucha. Our last day of service as Sweetchilango will be this  Saturday, November 1st, marking the close of a wonderful era and the beginning of something even more special.

This transformation is more than just a name change; it represents growth, creativity, and a renewed commitment to the community that has supported us from the very beginning. By listening to our guests and drawing from our culinary and hospitality expertise, we recognized that a full-service experience and expanded bar program were the natural next steps to make every visit truly memorable.

When we reopen as Bien Trucha, guests can expect what has made us a pillar of modern Mexican cuisine in Chicagoland—our signature tacos, hand-shaken cocktails, and one of the most curated agave spirit selections in the state, all showcased through an expanded full bar designed to elevate the experience even further. Our new menu will highlight seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and celebrate the artistry and techniques of authentic Mexican cooking.

Our ghost kitchen burrito concept, Lil Donkeys, will also find a home within the new space. It will be available for to-go orders and delivery, and for the first time, guests will be able to order on site through a digital kiosk and eat at the bar if they wish to—a perfect option for those who enjoyed the fast-casual side of Sweetchilango.

With this exciting addition to the Bien Trucha Group (BTG) family, our sister restaurant, A Toda Madre in Glen Ellyn, will also see menu updates designed to further differentiate it from Bien Trucha Wheaton while maintaining many of the beloved staples our guests have come to cherish.

We plan to reopen by the end of November and will operate seven days a week. Reservations will be available a few weeks after opening, and guests can look forward to new lunch and brunch dishes in addition to our rotating specials.
